July 5 - 11

The first step in our Rock Master Program focuses on embracing challenges while sharpening essential climbing skills. Whether you’re a beginner, gym climber, or have prior outdoor experience, this camp is designed to build on what you already know.

Campers develop confidence, responsibility, trust, and sound risk-management skills while learning what it takes to become a proficient climber. Participants may focus on technical systems, movement skills, or a blend of both. Technical instruction includes building strong top-rope anchors and single pitch rock rescue techniques.

Those refining movement skills will climb a variety of terrain to develop well-rounded technique ranging from heel hooks to finger-locks. The week begins with team-building through knot tying, effective belaying, and clear communication. As skills improve, campers progress to more challenging climbs and learn to rappel safely, mastering common techniques with variations suited to individual abilities.

As confidence and competence grow, so does the climbing team. Campers build friendships, independence, and resilience while climbing New Hampshire's beautiful cliffs. With guidance from an experienced Rock Guide and coach, campers enjoy plenty of time on the rock, problem-solving, refining skills, and continuing their climbing journey throughout the week.

Who is this for?

Appropriate for ages 13 to 18 (8th to 12th grades) who enjoy being outside, camping, and climbing. This program welcomes campers with or without prior climbing experience and is designed to boost all campers to a similarly high level of climbing proficiency.

This camp, second offering in our Rock Master program, introduces aspiring climbers to the challenging world of sport climbing. The week emphasizes improving climbing technique—especially on the steeper terrain of Rumney—through heel hooks, kneebars, and body position. Set in the scenic outdoors of the New Hampshire, campers build friendships, independence, and confidence along the way.

The program centers on climbing bolted sport routes and developing lead climbing skills, both physical and mental. Led by a 5.14 climber and coach, we're able to offer advanced technical skills along with elite mental performance training building performance and a healthy approach to the sport.

Participants learn essential sport climbing skills such as evaluating bolts, proper clipping techniques, lowering off, and transitioning from climbing to rappelling. Once the fundamentals of sport climbing are locked in we encourage projecting—the process of trying one challenging climb multiple times with the goal of completing it without falling—and work to help campers increase their abilities both mental and physical.

With a strong emphasis on time spent on the rock, campers refine movement skills and learn techniques to climb more efficiently. Climbers may lead or climb on top-rope, depending on individual readiness, while being guided and supported by experienced instructors.

Who is this for?

Appropriate for teens ages 13 to 18 (8th to 12th grades) seeking to increase their climbing skills and try harder climbs. Prior climbing experience is required and participation in the Rock Master I program is recommended, but not required if the camper has sufficient climbing skills.

August 2 - 8

If you love climbing, gear systems, and big cliff adventures, this camp is designed for you. A small camper-to-guide ratio allows for personalized instruction and the chance to take on more complex routes.

One of the few camps in the U.S. that teaches teens multi-pitch climbing and traditional lead techniques, this program gives skilled participants the opportunity to lead routes after demonstrating proficiency through mock leads. The goal is to introduce traditional lead climbing while tackling routes that require greater commitment than previous levels.

Climbers learn to place trad gear and learn to build natural anchors then put their skills into practice with mock leads as well as following their AMGA certified guide up classic rock climbs to see how it's done by an expert.

Each day features full-day climbing, often on multi-pitch routes, with a strong focus on gear placement. Instruction between climbs covers placing active and passive protection, building anchor systems, leading with gear, and managing more complex climbs independently.

Time on the rock is balanced with focused instruction on movement skills, efficiency, and technique. Campers climb on lead or top-rope as appropriate, building confidence, independence, and strong friendships in an inspiring outdoor setting.

Who is this for?

Appropriate for teens ages 13 to 18 (8th to 12th grades) seeking to increase their climbing skills through experiencing more committing multi-pitch (where all members of the group climb up a cliff one rope length at a time) and trad climbing (placing and removing ones own gear in the cracks of the rock for protection). Prior climbing experience is required and participation in the Rock Master I & II programs is recommended, but not required if the camper has sufficient climbing skills. For all participants, the ability to manage themselves during a long challenging day is needed.

We will be camping in a rustic campground that may not have running water, but will have pit toilets. It does not have showers, but there will be swimming opportunities.
